"Learning and achieving together in a caring and creative environment"
Sport at Boreham School
At Boreham Primary School it is our aim to ensure that all children lead happy, healthy and active lifestyles that contribute to a sense of achievement and well-being. We believe that PE in school has benefits that stretch far beyond the physical. Through sport children are able to overcome challenges, be inspired by others, develop positive relationships, have a positive body image and improve learning achievements and resilience. This is supported by our schools values (based upon the Olympic and Paralympic values): respect, excellence, friendship, determination, courage, equality, inspiration. Through Physical Education we also aim to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. Boreham School is mindful of these requirements and teachers plan to include these principles across the Physical Education curriculum as relevant to the age and stage of the pupils and appropriate curriculum content.
All members of our school community are expected to model our school values on a daily basis. Children can assess their own ability to recognise their own life skills in their day to day learning. We believe our core values support the well-being of our children and also their capacity to live in a modern Britain.
