The School Day

Although routines do vary from time to time and from class to class, the following table gives an example of a typical day for a pupil at Boreham Primary School. Each session will be broken down into different learning experiences and activities.

Main school gate is opened and class teachers open the classroom door for the children to come in.

Mr Bowyer (Head Teacher), Mrs Powell (School Business Manager), Mrs Huntley (SENCo) and Mr Falzon (Caretaker) are at the front gates to greet pupils. Other staff are located in the main playground as children walk into class.

Children settle in class to complete early morning work during registration.

School Gates locked. Any child arriving after this time will need to sign in at the main school office.

Phonics / Whole Class Reading (Monday's Only - Whole School Assembly 8.50 - 9.15)

Main school gates are opened for parents to come onto the playground

End of school day for all pupils

Class teachers stand at doors and dismiss children from class to parents.

Members of the senior leadership team are on the school playground

Parents are responsible for their child’s safety at the beginning and end of the school day. Children should not be left unsupervised or play on any of the outside equipment at any point before and after school. (This includes Susan the Dragon, the school field and the outdoor gymnasium area)
